Back in the USA
So I’m back, have been back for around two weeks actually. The big difference people in Ireland notice? That I dyed my hair…
Actually, to be honest, that’s probably the only difference there was.
The big one I notice? That I apparently talk about how great America is all the time. S’funny though, ‘cos I’m always talking about how great (and better) Ireland is, when I’m in Minnesota. I suppose I don’t know where I belong.
Anyway, I digress. I’ve been busy digitally recording the other 16mm films I made last semester, off the wall.
The Narrative, I hated.

Quicktime Remit: Tell a story
Some parts are underexposed and I didn’t think it through properly. You can even see where the film snapped. Of course, not to cast aspersions on the performance of my colleague, John ‘The Moose’ Knudson (Who whined like a bitch for days afterwards: “I don’t do running!”), or that of my former church client, Matthew ‘Lord’ Ecklund. I screwed up, not them.
After that I made the music video with class mate Ben Greiling:
And finally (obviously), my final. For the most part, those of us who were in ‘Intro to Film and Video’ had to work on a particular format for particular projects. For our final though, we could choose either film or video, and as someone who was going into film, my choice was natural, if not easy. Out of a class that (I’m guessing) was split down the middle between those who would go onto either format, I was only one of two who shot their last project on film. I’m told that my instructor cut the other guy off in the middle of his.
The crazy blonde sledder is Kenny Olson, classmate (Who also whined. Come to think of it, I get a lot of whiners in my shoots. It must have something to do with the lack of a paycheck), and David Wells, colleague, who smacked the back of his big sleek Dodge Intrepid off a truck just as he left the location.
Sorry Dave.
P.S. Check out my old mission trip post for a little addition.
P.P.S. And if any bright spark knows how to let people enlarge the Quicktime videos I’ve uploaded, let me know.
